Allocation (Bonds)

In the case of bonds, an Allocation is the quantity of bonds an underwriter, selling group member, or customer receives on a new issue order. In the event an issue is oversubscribed with more orders than bonds in a particular maturity, the senior manager may award only a percentage of the order that has been placed.
