Atlantic Financial Moves to Westboro, April 2001

News- economics and investments

In a time when many dot-coms are closing their doors, Atlantic Financial, the Internet's first full service investment firm, has expanded into a new location in Westboro. Atlantic Financial is an independent investment firm that offers stocks, bonds, CDs, 401ks plans, managed accounts and over 10,000 mutual funds to corporate and individual clients. Founded in 1994, the firm made headlines as the Internet's first full service investment firm with its www.atlanticfinancial.com/ website.
The firm was founded by Bruce Fenton, formerly a representative with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in Worcester, eventually expanding to Wellesley Mass. As the Internet and the stock market grew throughout the late 1990's, Atlantic Financial grew as well. The firm's asset allocation strategies and risk reduction investing models attracted many serious corporate and high-net worth individual investors. The firm also opened a record number of 401k plans for medium sized businesses in year 2000. "We took a more conservative approach than many dot-coms by focusing on real business and helping real clients. We tried not to get caught up in the venture capital and IPO mania and focused instead on steady, stable growth of the company." Says Atlantic's President, Bruce Fenton.

Today Atlantic Financial counts among its clients several law firms, hedge funds, corporations and some of the nation's wealthiest families. Atlantic's clients to receive a good combination of the personalized service they would expect from a small firm with the large infrastructure and technology they expect from an industry leader.

"Our former two locations in Wellesley could not accommodate our growth so we began a New England wide search for the best town or city to relocate. Westboro has many of the advantages of a large city but also the small town feeling we enjoyed in Wellesley and great proximity to Boston and Worcester. Despite the great location and benefits of the community, Westboro's prices are still far more reasonable than other towns in its league." Says Fenton.

"It was important to find a location our employees enjoy, the Westboro location provides just that. We look forward to expanding in Westboro and becoming a part of this great community."

Atlantic's new office is located about one mile from Route 9 at #6 Colonial Drive next door to the Westboro Health Care Center. The company plans some landscaping, redecorating and the activation of their new sign; the office grand opening will be some time toward the end of the summer. In the meantime, the offices are operational and open to visitors and guests.
