Bearer Bond

A Bearer Bond is a bond that has no registration as to the owner of the security. It is assumed that the owner of the bond is the person who is in possession of the bond. All bonds issued prior to June 1983 were bearer bonds. Since that period, bonds have been issued in registered and book entry form.
